Country Estate Remodel and Addition

This was a total-gut remodel transformation project. Original of 6,000 Sq. Ft. Country Estate home with two additions to make the home 8,000 Sq. Ft.
All new everything! Awesome lighting, smart home, security system, home audio, new fireplaces, extensive crown and trim, exposed beam ceilings and  too many finishes to list. 
Raised the kitchen roof and ceiling to create an uninterrupted 14' ceiling height.
Extended the right side of the home and added the covered porch addition and roof line to create the new master suite bathroom and walk in closet. We also added a new large laundry room.  This is one of our diamond projects. Please see the "before" photos to compare.


Hermosa

This project was a design build total rehab and rebuild. The existing 1,100 square foot home had been neglected for years. The foundation was over 4 inches out of level. 
The entire foundation was re-engineered, upgraded and retrofitted. We added on 1,700 square feet creating an open air feel in the kitchen and great room bringing the beautiful back yard views inside. A new master suite was also added on the north wing.
This was a truly gratifying project that turned out better in person than the photographs show.
Domenic picked all of the finishes himself along with the trim and finish details. The before and after pictures here say it all of what Covarelli Construction can do.

Lafayette Transformation

Danville Addition and Remodel

This project was a very rewarding success. Our client was very involved in every aspect of the design so it actually morphed into a design build project in that respect. The existing house was roughly 2,000 sq feet. We added about 1,000 square feet of beautiful master suite. We also reworked the middle 1,000 sq ft and made the two existing bedrooms larger, added an office and nice sized hall bath. We then did a face lift on the existing great room and kitchen with paint and hardwood floors. All while the client lived in the home.

Starboard Water Home Remodel

The new owners of this waterfront home wanted a total makeover of their downstairs space. We totally gutted out the entire area. We moved a wall to make the laundry larger and more functional. The new chef's kitchen layout has two islands, one that functions as a prep and baking station, and the large island for more prep and entertainment. We created a pass-through-walk-in-pantry that is hidden behind full height double cabinet doors. New fireplace with floating hearth and custom live-edge mantel. We also designed and installed a whole house automated home audio system with surround sound system in the family room. My clients now feel like they are truly at home.

Bethel Island Waterfront Home

A full renovation of a water front home. Removed walls in the kitchen to open up the space to the family room. All new windows and sliding doors. Pop Up window for a service and party bar opened to the out rear out door area.
New laundry, master bathroom, hall bathroom, home office and family room.

Tyner Ridge Incline Village NV

This project is a 5200 sq ft four story high elevation house over looking the amazing waters of Lake Tahoe. We planned a total transformation of this home into a mountain modern contemporary palace. Total gut inside and out with all new floor plan and complete new finishes and upgrades, Lake Views from every room. Wine Cellar, Glass Tube Elevator, Two Master Suites, Two Laundry Rooms, Gourmet Kitchen. 

Mayhew Incline Village, Tahoe

This is our Hallmark project to date. An amazing team effort that transformed a 1920's original construction 1,200 square foot shack to a beautiful 3,800 square foot Mountain Modern Lodge style home in Incline Village.

Lee, Hillsborough

I was hired as on-site project manager specifically for this project. The General Contractor that was negotiated this project didn't have anyone qualified to handle a project of this magnitude and complexity.  It was an extensive seismic upgrade, hillside stabilization, foundation upgrade, swimming pool repair and restoration and a 13,000 sq. ft. full gut design build, re-design and remodel along with a major hillside excavation with new structural retaining wall to make room for a room addition. We turned a flat roof over the existing garage into a roof top deck. Extensive custom finish trim and finishes, marble stair case, home automation, LED lighting, fiberoptic lighting, full pre-cast stone exterior, over 9,000 sq. ft of imported granite pavers, pool house, radiant heating system, plus much more. This was a two-year project valued at over $9mm. A very challenging site with limited access.  Very rewarding to say the least.

Halliday Addition and Remodel

The desire was to create more living space for a young and growing family. We added 800 sq. ft. to create a guest room/office with a walk in closet, moved the laundry from the garage into the new hallway, new hall full bathroom, built in cabinets, new family room with improved fireplace, and then remodel the existing dining room and partial kitchen space by removing walls to open up the floor plan. New stucco finish, all new exterior and interior paint and new outdoor shower. We accomplished all of this while the family with two small children lived in the house.

Discovery Bay Waterfront Deck Re-Build

We were hired to totally rebuild an existing 30 plus year old deck on a waterfront home in Discovery Bay CA. The existing deck was built with all Douglas fir lumber, and it was rotten and failing to the point of being a safety problem.
The existing deck was multi-level, and it did not flow very well. We re-designed the deck to be all one level for flow and function. We had to crane-lift the new very large glu-lam beam to set it in place.
All of the new sub framing was constructed with new pressure treated lumber. The new decking is Brock Deck and the railing is a combination of new composite vinyl railing along with View Rail Company glass rail. The panels are a full 1/2" thick, face mounted on the fascia with their Talon Style mounting brackets for a very clean install. This system opened up the view to the clients with a very unobstructed system.

Lylewood, Pleasanton Kitchen

We took this already large nice kitchen and updated the finishes and style to help create the owners dream space. The space is approximately 19' wide with 12' tall ceilings.We removed the corner closet style pantry, re-arranged the appliance line up, made the island larger,installed all new custom cabinets, new LED recessed fixtures, new appliances and stone with glass tile back splash.
A great kitchen for entertaining.We also remodeled the wet bar and entertainment area of the family room to mach the kitchen finishes.

San Ramon Exterior Reface

We were called in to save the client on this project. She already had two contractors fail. Both had performed very poor work and left her high and dry with many problems. Over schedule and over budget. We got the referral from an associate. The front of the house had been left in a very poor demolished state. We excavated and installed the foundation for the new covered porch. We installed all of the timber framing, siding, roofing, gutters and also reconfigured the garage door layout. Originally there were three small garage doors. We changed it to a double and single layout. We also added some timber framing covered eyebrow roof lines over the back doors of the rear facade. The transformation of this exterior is outstanding and will be even more amazing after the landscape is complete.

San Mateo

Custom trusses where made on site to create the kitchen ceiling. Venetian plaster, natural stone finished off this show piece. A second phase master suite remodel showcases a beautiful bathroom with many fine design touches.

Panoramic Drive Martinez Hills

This is a phased total remodel of a mid 70's custom home. We will be transforming this home into a industrial modern home with all new windows, soffits, flat roofs, metal decking and all metal siding. These are some of the original photos and some progress photos. The final results will be a ways away but it is starting to change and look really good. The transformation is extreme.

Orinda CA Decks

This was a tear down and rebuild of two large decks. We created a picture frame layout to avoid long runs and but joints. The deck was built using all clear heart redwood that was amazing material. We pre-sanded all of the wood, pre-sealed it, and then sanded the top surface after install and final sealed the material to complete. I wish that this was professionally photographed because it is magazine worthy. The owners love the finish product. All fasteners are blind. Where we had to apply a surface screw, all screws are plugged and sanded to hide the screw. 

Westmont Remodel

Full gut remodel rehab of investment property. Had to upgrade and permit an illegally built enclosed patio that was turned into a great family room. Fully remodeled two full bathrooms, kitchen, all new recessed lighting, appliances and mechanical with a new landscape retaining wall and planting.
